Fantasia, a symphonic concert brought to life by Walt Disney animation, premiered in 1940. The Sorcerer's Apprentice was one of eight sequences that overnight became a cinematic classic.
Here Mickey and his magical powers have brought a battalion of mops to life to do his work. Listen closely, and you can almost hear the music of Leopold Stokowski. Full of movement and brightly colored, the Sorcerer's Apprentice artfully transforms an animated scene into a three-dimensional treasure.
